About Annie

I grew up in a small—significantly, notably small—West Virginia town. For all those years, I believed it was a darned shame that nothing real ever happened around there. For me the real world was located somewhere near Disneyland and could only be accessed through the screen of our Zenith TV. I was wrong on all counts. My town was/is still brimming over with stories. Every town is.

Cleveland is my town now. Once I knew where—and how—to look, I couldn’t stop seeing the stories, and hearing the voices that tell them to me. Look around. If you’ve got a town, a family, a workplace, or a window to gaze out of? You’ve got stories, too.

I have a master’s degree in English literature and spent my first career writing advertising copy—a combo which, in my opinion, totally qualifies me for making a bunch of stuff up. My first published novel, Too Lucky to Live, #1 in the Somebody’s Bound to Wind Up Dead Mystery Series, was released by Poisoned Pen Press in May of  2017. Murder to the Metal, second in the series, appeared in June of 2018. Third in my series, The Devil’s Own Game comes out October 15th.

I live ten yards from Lake Erie in the City of Cleveland with my husband, Bill, and our delinquent cat, Cujo.

I have never won a $550 million lottery jackpot.
